Video Game Challenge Day 26: Boss Fights

“Favorite boss fight”

Since it’s not genre-specific, this one could be a lot of things, and I’m really not sure of my answer(s).

Kaptain K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country 2 is definitely up there. Why he’s got a blunderbuss that doubles as a vacuum and why he occasionally shoots barrels that have cannonballs in them so you have something you can pick up and use against him, I don’t know, but he’s definitely a very memorable fight.

Boomerang Flash from Wild Arms is, gameplay wise, about what you’d excpet from the second-strongest superboss in that game. But the story concept for this battle stands out; his desire for a rematch is so strong that it grants him a Guardian Blade and brings him back from the dead. And he’s got his own (awesome) music that’s used nowhere else, in a game where the majority of the optional bosses (including the one that’s even tougher) don’t even get boss music.
