Marriage equality chart

Yesterday’s xkcd:

popular approval of same-sex marriage is much higher than approval of interracial marriage was when that became legal in every state

I still hear the occasional pessimist say that even though they support equality, some people are trying to push it too fast, but as this chart shows, there is at least one area where progress is being far too slow.

(Note: it’s “percentage of population living in states”, not “percentage of states”; I’m pretty sure that downward dip is California alone.)
